Abstract:
This safety device comprises: a shape sensor (101) that acquires shape data indicating the shape of the terrain surrounding a hydraulic shovel (1); a determination unit (112) that, on the basis of the shape data, determines whether an activation condition is satisfied, said activation condition activating fall prevention control for preventing the hydraulic shovel (1) from falling toward a slanted surface in a specific direction in the surroundings; and a descent control unit (113) that causes a tip end section of a work device to descend toward the slanted surface when the determination unit (112) has determined that the activation condition is satisfied.
