Abstract:

A safety device of the door of an elevator capable of suppressing the occurrence of defective breakage of a cable for transmitting an output from a photoelectric detector to the control device of a door drive device by preventing the cable from being bent by the opening/closing movements of the door and also capable of increasing abnormality detection accuracy by securely detecting the operation of a movable edge part. The safety device comprises the movable edge part and the photoelectric detector formed of a light emitting device and a light receiving device. The movable edge part is disposed at the side-edge parts of door side walls in the door closing direction through their generally overall length in a direction orthogonal to the door opening/closing directions, held, in a stationary state, at a position extended a specified amount from the end face of the door in the door closing direction, and moving, when a pressing force in the door opening direction acts thereon, in the door opening direction while shifting in a direction orthogonal to the door opening/closing directions to operate so as to reduce the extended amount from the end face of the door in the door closing direction. The photoelectric detector fitted to an entrance member in the door opening/closing directions to form an optical path so that, when the movable edge part is positioned in the stationary state, the optical path crosses an entrance in the door opening/closing directions and, when the movable edge part is operating, the optical path is shielded.
