Title:
SAMPLING RATE CONVERSION APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1991/012664
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
When a sampling rate conversion apparatus uses first and second sampling frequencies related by a simple ratio of integers, an over-sampling filter is constituted of an FIR type digital filter having a length corresponding to the least common multiple of the two integers. Accordingly, the first or second sampling frequency of the digital signal can be converted to the second or first sampling frequency. In the sampling rate conversion apparatus, means for producing different coefficient data can provide selected output for changing the coefficient to be applied to weighting means for the over-sampling filter. Accordingly, even when the first and second sampling frequencies do not have a simple integer ratio, the first or second sampling frequency of the digital signal can be converted to the second or first sampling frequency.
