Abstract:
A screen according to one embodiment of the present technology displays an image in response to projection of image light having, as a main component, light in a prescribed polarized state, the screen having an uneven surface and an optical element. The uneven surface includes a plurality of reflective surfaces that have light transmissivity and that diffuse and reflect the projected image light. The optical element is configured, in accordance with the polarization state of the image light, on a second side of the uneven surface opposite to a first side on which the image light is projected, and the optical element restricts the transmission of the image light to the second side, and transmits at least a portion of the light entering from the second side.
