Abstract:
Provided is a seal device with which it is possible to inhibit static leakage. In order to achieve the aforesaid purpose, the seal device seals a sealing fluid between a housing and a rotary shaft inserted through a shaft hole in the housing, wherein: an outer circumference-side seal lip attached to the inside circumference of the shaft hole slidably contacts a seal flange attached to the outside circumference of the rotary shaft; a thread groove producing a fluid-pumping effect during rotation of the rotary shaft is provided to the seal flange; a region in which the thread groove is not provided is set on the inside circumference side of the thread groove on the seal flange; and the inside circumference side of the outside circumference-side seal lip is provided with a cylinder part projecting towards the device interior side with respect to the axial direction, and a check lip which is thinner than the cylinder part, the check lip extending diagonally outwards from a longitudinal end section of the cylinder part and slidably contacting the aforementioned region.
