Abstract:
A seal ring having strength and air permeability in spite of its simple structure and a method of easily manufacturing the seal ring at low cost. The seal ring (A) interposed between a rotating side member (3) and a fixed side member (4) and sealing between the inside and the outside of the seal ring between these two members (3) and (4) comprises a core (6) formed of a net-like body, an elastic seal member (7) formed of an elastic material integrally fixed to the core (6) in a partially penetrated state into the net space of the net-like body, and an exposed portion (6a) from which a part of the core (6) is exposed by the removal of a part of the seal member (7). The seal ring is characterized in that, in the state of being interposed between these two members (3) and (4), the exposed portion (6a) has permeability between the inside and the outside of the seal ring through the net-like space.
