Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a sealing agent for organic electroluminescent display elements, which exhibits excellent adhesion even to flexible substrates and the like and is capable of suppressing display failure due to deterioration of an element.
The present invention is a sealing agent for organic electroluminescent display elements, which contains a cationically polymerizable compound and a cationic polymerization initiator, and wherein: the cationically polymerizable compound contains a hydrolyzable cationically polymerizable compound that has cationically polymerizable groups and ether bonds or ester bonds and produces hydrolysis products, all of which have a cationically polymerizable group, in cases where the ether bonds or the ester bonds are broken by means of hydrolysis; and the amount of an outgas generated if 300 mg of the sealing agent is measured and sealed into a vial container, cured by being heated at 100°C for 30 minutes or cured by being irradiated with ultraviolet light of 1,500 mJ/cm2 and subsequently heated at 80°C for 30 minutes, and then heated at 85°C for 100 hours is 100 ppm or less.
