Provided is a search-use camera device making it possible to capture images without occurrence of blind spots due to a stitch surface, even if a search target is present at point-blank range in front in a direction of extension of a rod. This search-use camera device is provided with: a rod section having an imaging camera disposed at a distal end thereof; a control unit for processing circular fish-eye image data obtained with the imaging camera and generating central projection image data, and generating a predetermined region inside the central projection image data as display image data; an operation unit for accepting an operation to modify the location or size of the predetermined region by a user, and transmitting same to the control unit as operation information; and a display unit for displaying an image based on the display image data generated at the control unit. The rod is inserted from the distal end side into a narrow gap toward a region that is difficult to view directly, which is ahead of the gap, so as to check the presence/absence of search targets via the display image of the display unit. The imaging camera has a circular fisheye lens having an imaging axis oriented in a virtual extension line direction of an axis of the rod section.
