Abstract:
A secondary battery according to the present invention is provided with: a positive electrode; a negative electrode which contains a hydroxycarboxylic acid compound that contains at least one of a first hydroxycarboxylic acid compound and a second hydroxycarboxylic acid compound; and an electrolyte which contains a high dielectric constant solvent that has a relative dielectric constant of 20 or more in a temperature range of from -30°C (inclusive) to 60°C (exclusive), said high dielectric constant solvent containing a lactone so that the lactone content in the high dielectric constant solvent is from 65% by weight to 100% by weight. At least one among the positive electrode, the negative electrode and the electrolyte contains a plurality of inorganic oxide particles; and the plurality of inorganic oxide particles contain at least one of zirconium oxide, σ-aluminum oxide, κ-aluminum oxide, θ-aluminum oxide, χ-aluminum oxide, ρ-aluminum oxide, η-aluminum oxide and γ-aluminum oxide, while having a median diameter (D50) of 1 μm or less.
