Abstract:
One embodiment of the present invention provides a secondary cell 100 housing, in an outer casing 20, an electrolyte and an electrode assembly 10 that comprises positive electrodes 1, negative electrodes 2, and separators 3 disposed between each positive electrode 1 and negative electrode 2, wherein: the electrode assembly 10 is provided with a stepped structure comprising, in a cross-section view, a first region 10X having a relatively high height and a second region 10Y adjacent to the first region 10X and having a relatively low height; the electrode assembly 10 having the stepped structure is provided with a positive electrode–side connecting portion 14X for connecting together the positive electrode–side connector tabs 13X for a portion of the positive electrodes 1A1 within the first region 10X, and/or a negative electrode–side connecting portion 24X for connecting together the negative electrode–side connector tabs 23X for a portion of the negative electrodes 2A1 within the first region 10X; and a positive electrode–side lead-out portion 14Y connecting together the positive electrode–side lead-out tabs 13Y of at least two of the positive electrodes 1A2 and/or a negative electrode–side lead-out portion 24Y connecting together the negative electrode–side lead-out tabs 23Y of at least two of the negative electrodes 2A2 within the second region 10Y is configured so as to electrically connect to an external terminal 30.
