Abstract:
The present invention protects a control device from threats that can arise from the control device being networked or made intelligent. A security monitoring device that can be externally installed on a control device that has a program execution unit that executes a program that has been created in accordance with a control target. The security monitoring device comprises a communication port for connecting the control device. When it is detected from the content of communications that a security event has occurred with respect to external access to the control device, notification is made to a notification destination that corresponds to the security event that occurred. The security event can be an event that does not conform to predetermined rules.
