Abstract:
A blind setting rivet (100) for fastening one or more sheet metal pieces together is disclosed. The rivet assembly comprises a rivet body (102) having a tubular sleeve (104) and an enlarged flattened head (106) which surrounds a mandrel (108). The mandrel includes a weakened area of reduced diameter to allow for separation after the rivet sets and terminates in a self-tapping and self-polishing auger tip (110).
