Portability of an electronic device provided with a semiconductor card can be improved. The semiconductor card can be inserted into a card slot of the electronic device, can be engaged with a card socket formed within the card slot, and comprises a basic portion and an expanded portion. The basic portion comprises a terminal portion and first connection portion, and the terminal portion can be engaged with the card socket. The expanded portion comprises a second connection portion, and while the second connection portion is connected to the first connection portion, the expanded portion can be arranged in two types of conditions which are a stacked condition where the expanded portion is stacked substantially in parallel onto the basic portion; and an extended condition where the expanded portion is extended at a right angle or larger with respect to the basic portion. When the terminal portion is engaged with the card socket in the stacked condition, the basic portion and the expanded portion are inserted into the card slot, whereas, when the terminal is engaged with the card socket in the extended condition, the basic portion is inserted into the card slot while a part of the expanded portion projects from the card slot.
