Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a semiconductor memory device capable of normally reading a value from a memory element and achieving a large capacity. [Solution] A semiconductor memory device according to the present invention is provided with: a memory element; reference elements having a first resistance state for generating a reference potential for determining a value held in the memory element; and a reference element having a second resistance state that is higher than the resistance value of the first resistance state for generating the reference potential. The semiconductor memory device has a configuration in which, when the reference potential is generated, the number of reference elements having the first resistance state is larger.
