Abstract:
A sensor equipped bearing for a wheel, with which a load detection sensor can be compactly installed on a vehicle, that can highly sensitively detect a load on a wheel, and that can be mass-produced at low cost. The bearing has double-row rolling bodies (3) placed between an outer member (1) and an inner member (2), and a spacer member (27) is interposed between a vehicle body installation hole (9) in the outer member (1) on the stationary side and a knuckle (25) of a vehicle body. A sensor unit (16) composed of a sensor installation member (17) and a strain sensor (18) is attached to the outer member (1). The sensor installation member (17) has at least two contact/fixation sections (17a, 17b) engaged to the outer member (1) and also has at least one cutout (17c) between adjacent contact/fixation sections (17a, 17b). The strain sensor (18) is provided at the cutout (17c).
