Abstract:
A sensor insertion device (1) comprises: a cylindrical body case (15) having a lower-end opening section (18) and an upper-end opening section (19); a needle button (14) provided so as to slide freely in and out of the upper-end opening section (19) of the body case (15); a carrier (16) provided in the body case (15) and connected to the needle button (14); a guide needle holding section (23a), which is provided to the lower-end section of the carrier (16) and in which a guide needle (23) for guiding a sensor (4) in an insertion direction is detachably held; a long, cylindrical needle removal sleeve (17) provided so as to freely slide on the outer periphery of the body case (15); and a gripping section (25) provided on the outer periphery of the needle removal sleeve (17), along the longitudinal direction of the body case (15).
