Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to prevent a reduction in service resulting from a communication fault of heartbeat packets in a cluster system. In a cluster system provided with two server devices that operate as an in-use system or a standby system, provided is a first server device that comprises: a heartbeat transmission/reception unit that transmits and receives heartbeat packets to and from an opposing second server device; and an opposing node monitoring unit that adjusts the timeout period for transferring the operation of the first server device from the standby system to the in-use system according to the reception state for the heartbeat packets.
