Abstract:
A settlement terminal (1) comprises: an acquisition unit (11) that acquires master biometric information and proof-of-age information from a storage medium which is carried by a person settling a transaction and which stores the master biometric information and the proof-of-age information for the person settling a transaction; an authentication unit (12) that performs biometric authentication by verifying query biometric information acquired from the person settling a transaction at the time of settlement against the acquired master biometric information; a determination unit (13) that, if the biometric authentication is successful and a product with an imposed age condition is included in settlement target product information of the person settling a transaction, determines whether the acquired proof-of-age information satisfies the age condition; and a settlement unit (14) that performs settlement in accordance with the determined result.
