Abstract:
The present invention provides: a peptide fragment derived from secreted frizzled protein 5 (Sfrp5), that is, a peptide fragment selected from the group consisting of peptides composed of amino acid sequences of SEQ ID NOs: 1 to 9; and a cosmetic composition, containing the same as an active ingredient, for skin whitening and/or skin pigmentation suppression. The peptide fragment has an activity to suppress skin pigmentation by inhibiting melanogenesis in melanin cells. In addition, the present invention provides reagents for research or analysis, containing the peptide fragment to suppress Wnt signaling.
