A surface coil for a magnetic resonance imaging system comprises: a first plane coil unit placed on a plane; and a first curved surface coil unit placed symmetrically to the first plane coil unit and placed on one curved surface, wherein the first plane coil unit and the first curved surface coil unit are electrically connected to each other in at least two parts.
