Description:
SHAFTLESS CHUCK

Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to packaging, paper, textile, and metal industries.

In particular, the present invention relates to shaftless chuck in which the winding and unwinding of the roll is carried out when the roll on which the product is wound is too heavy to be supported by a shaft in the packaging, paper, textile and metal industries, when the machine on which the roll to be processed is too wide, when the diameter of the bobbin core is different, or the machine frame is moving.

State of the Art

Shaftless chuck which provides control over the bobbin of any material is the ideal mechanical/pneumatic solution for the correct winding and unwinding of raw materials and products on a roll in packaging, paper, textile, and metal production processes in particular which are continuously running/mass production.

The operating mechanism of the shaftless chuck is as follows; head enters into the bobbin, opens inside the bobbin with the help of its pneumatic mechanism and clamps the bobbin. Shaftless winding head enables to wind the raw material/product on the bobbin, or to unwind the raw material/product on the roll with a brake system, with the help of the drive received from the motor.

There are different chucks in the state of the art. For example, a bobbin chuck is described for holding cylindrical rotation bodies without a shaft in the US patent document numbered US3910520 A. A shaftless winding device is described in the Japanese patent document numbered JPS6428148.

A frequently encountered problem in existing systems is that paper, fabric or metal chips get into this pneumatic mechanism, which provides the movement of paper, fabric or metal chips through the clamping tabs inside the bobbin, which are moved by the pneumatic mechanism. These dusts accumulate over time, causing the mechanism to lock up and thus production to stop, as well as damaging the pneumatic system itself, increasing the wearing of the system and reducing the service life of the existing shaftless chucks Since the machines to which the shaftless chucks will be connected are produced by different machine manufacturers, the shaftless chucks are also designed and produced specifically for them and can only be used in that machine. The fact that the heads cannot be used in more than one machine in the production line is a problem that increases the production cost and prevents flexibility in production planning. Another problem is that the machine oils used in machine elements operating with each other come out of the system from the surfaces that wear out over time and come into contact with the raw material/product on the roll.

As a result, due to the abovementioned disadvantages and the insufficiency of the current solutions regarding the subject matter, a development is required to be made in the relevant technical field.

Aim of the Invention

The present invention relates to a shaftless chuck which fulfills the abovementioned requirements, eliminates all disadvantages, and brings some additional advantages.

The main aim of the invention is to provide the ideal mechanical/pneumatic solution for the correct winding and unwinding of raw materials and products on a roll in packaging, paper, textile, and metal production processes in particular which are continuously running/mass production with the help of the developed shaftless winding head which provides control over the bobbin of any material.

Another aim of the invention is to develop a product compatible with any design, which can be connected to machines produced by different machine manufacturers.

Another aim of the invention is to develop a product that is easy to maintain and has long service life; wherein this pneumatic mechanism, which provides the movement of paper, fabric, or metal chips between the clamping tabs inside the bobbin, is prevented from entering into it.

In order to fulfill the above-described aims, the invention; the present invention is a shaftless chuck comprising of the following; a piston body on which the slots on which the rotating diameter bites are mounted are located; a Chuck Body system comprising clamping tabs located on the piston body, operating in a bearing, and mounted according to the bobbin diameter; centering and torque transmission pins, which are located on the piston body and provide precise centering and torque transmission for the Chuck Body system.

The structural and characteristic features of the present invention will be understood clearly by the following detailed description and therefore the evaluation shall be made by taking the detailed description into consideration.

Detailed Description of the Invention

In this detailed description, the invention is described only for clarifying the subject matter in a manner such that no limiting effect is created.

An illustrative view of the inventive shaftless chuck given in Figure 1 mainly comprises of the following;

- A piston body (1) on which the slots on which the rotatable Excentric mounting Bush (5) are mounted are located;

- A Chuck Body system (2) comprising clamping tabs located on the piston body (1), operating in a bearing, and mounted according to the bobbin diameter;

- Centering and torque transmission pins (3), which are located on the piston body (1) and provide precise centering and torque transmission for adapters that can be mounted on the Chuck Body system (2) and preferably on the shaftless chuck In a preferred application of the invention, the Chuck Body system (2) includes O-ring channels (4) opened on the clamping tabs in the system (2). The clamping tabs in the Chuck Body system (2) are closed with the help of said O-ring channels (4). The clamping tabs in the developed shaftless chuck operate in a bearing. O-ring channel (4) is opened around the lug walls of the clamping tabs so as to prevent dust from entering the pneumatic mechanism and to prevent the protective machine oil in the system from coming out. In this way, dust is prevented from entering the mechanism and it is ensured that the mechanism operates easily. Another advantage is that the lubrication used for the mechanism to be long-lasting is prevented from coming out with the help of the O-ring channel (4).

The developed invention mainly comprises of; a piston body (1), a Chuck Body system (2), centering and torque transmission pins (3) and rotatable Excentric mounting Bush (5). The piston body (1) is the body in which all the components of the developed shaftless winding head are mounted. Chuck Body system (2), on the other hand, is a system that can be changed independently of the piston body (1), depending on the diameter of the bobbin to be used, and includes clamping tabs and O-ring channels (4). Torque transmission pins (3) are used in the piston body (1) in order to center the adapters to be placed on the shaftless winding head and to provide torque transmission. A wide range of section circles is offered to the user with the help of the Excentric mounting Bush (5) whose product connection points are positioned on the axis of a certain section circle and can rotate around their own axis. In this way, it is ensured that the same product can be used in connection sizes with different section circle diameters. Only the Chuck body (2) part is changed, allowing the use of bobbins of different diameters with the same piston body (1) due to the fact that the piston body (1) and the chuck body (2) are two separate parts. The user is provided with an advantage in terms of cost with this system.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, centering and torque transmission pins (3) can provide precise centering and torque transmission for adapters that can preferably be mounted on the shaftless winding head, except for the Chuck Body system (2). In this way, instead of designing a new product for larger bobbin diameters, a solution is offered by mounting an additional adapter on the existing Shaftless Chuck It is important to mount the clamping tabs on the adapter and the clamping tabs on the Chuck Body (2) on the same axis in transferring the torque on the tabs on the Chuck Body (2) to the adapter. It is ensured that the tabs of the adapters to be mounted on the Chuck Body (2) are on the same axis with the help of the Pins (3) on the piston body (1 ). At the same time, the pins (3) are also used to transfer the torque taken from the piston body (1 ) to the adapter. The inventive shaftless chuck is the part in which the winding and unwinding of the roll is carried out when the roll on which the product is wound is too heavy to be supported by a shaft in the packaging, paper, textile and metal industries, when the machine on which the roll is to be processed is too wide, when the diameter of the bobbin core is different or the machine frame is moving. Shaftless winding head which provides control over the bobbin of any material is the ideal mechanical/pneumatic solution for the correct winding and unwinding of raw materials and products on a roll in packaging, paper, textile and metal production processes in particular which are continuously running/mass production.
