Abstract:
This shredder for shredding a material to be shredded such as paper has the following: a shredding motor (36) that is driven by power from a power source (E) and that drives a shredding blade; an emergency stop mechanism (63) for stopping the supply of power to the shredding motor (36) when a predetermined condition has been met; an electrical load (54) for electromotive force caused by rotation due to the inertia of the shredding motor (36) after actuation of the emergency stop mechanism (63); and a switch (53) for switching a connection destination of the shredding motor (36) from the power source (E) to the electrical load (54) when the emergency stop mechanism (63) is actuated.
