The invention relates to compounds which are useful as orally administrable drugs (particularly, therapeutic or preventive agents for influenza) having sialidase−inhibiting activity and the guanidino groups of which are protected with specific acyl groups. The compounds are represented by the general formula (1): R^x−NHC(=NR¹⁰)NHR¹¹ (1) wherein R^x is a residue of a compound (1A) represented by the general formula: R^x−NHC(=NH)NH₂ and having sialidase −inhibiting activity&semi and R¹⁰ and R¹¹ are each hydrogen, −C(=O)OC(R^G1)− (R^G2)OC(=O)R^G3, −C(=O)OC(R^G1)(R^G2)OC(=O)OR^G4, or −C(=O)OR^G5 (wherein R^G1, R^G2, R^G3, and R^G4 are each hydrogen, alkyl, or the like), with the proviso that the cases wherein both R¹⁰ and R¹¹ are hydrogen are excepted.
