Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a side air bag device which is efficiently contained in a seat back and which can have an increased vehicle occupant restraining force. [Solution] This side air bag device 100 is characterized by comprising: a seat frame 106 contained within the seat back 104 of a seat 102 and extending along a side surface of the seat back 104; an inflator 110 mounted on the vehicle occupant side of the seat frame 106; a cushion 108 connected to the inflator 110 and having a portion folded back to the side opposite the vehicle occupant side of the seat frame 106; and holding sections (tabs 142, 144) for anchoring the folded-back portion of the cushion 108 to the side opposite the seat frame 106.
