Title:
SINTERED BEARING AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/042664
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a sintered bearing capable of reducing the amount of copper required and lowering production costs, while exhibiting excellent initial running-in characteristics and quietness as well as high durability. A mold is filled with a starting material powder including iron powder, a flat copper powder, a low-melting-point metallic powder, and graphite; and a green compact is formed in a state where the flat copper powder has been deposited on the die molding face. Iron inside the green compact is subsequently sintered without reacting with the carbon, whereby an iron structure is formed in a ferrite phase, and a sintered bearing is obtained. The sintered bearing (1) has a base part (S2) in which the copper content is uniform, and a surface layer (S1) covering the surface of the base part (S2) and having a higher copper content than the base part (S2).
