Title:
SINTERED OIL-RETAINING BEARING AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2002/040880
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A sintered oil-retaining bearing comprising a bearing body formed from a porous sintered alloy, and a bearing hole formed in the bearing body and adapted to receive a rotary shaft passing therethrough, wherein the inner peripheral surface of the bearing hole has a sliding surface formed by smashing vacancies in the front surface when the bearing body is compact-pressed, and a porous oil supply surface for providing the portion of the inner peripheral surface other than the sliding surface with a higher surface porosity than that of the sliding surface, the surface porosity of the sliding surface being set to within a range of 0.05 to 10% and that of the oil supply surface to within a range of 15 to 60%, whereby a sufficient oil film strength on the sliding surface and a satisfactory lubricating oil supply can be ensured to thereby reduce a friction coefficient at starting.
