Abstract:
Provided are a sliding bearing and a pump comprising the sliding bearing device, in which there is exceptional slurry wear resistance during operation in water (slurry) containing foreign matter such as earth and sand. This sliding bearing is formed from a resin composition comprising aromatic polyether ketone, fluororesin, boron nitride, carbon fibers, graphite, and unavoidable impurities. With respect to the resin composition, the graphite content is 5 mass% or less (including 0 mass%) and the total content of the boron nitride, the carbon fibers, and the graphite is 30 mass% or more. The area ratio of the carbon fibers on a sliding surface of the sliding bearing is less than 10%, but at any five locations of sample pieces cut out of the sliding surface of the sliding bearing, the area ratio of the carbon fibers is an average area ratio determined from the areas of regions having a brightness of at least 75% in the HSB color space, by image-processing a section measuring L 589 μm × W 442 μm in a field of observation using an optical microscope (500×).
