Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to improve the seize resistance of a resin composition used in a sliding member. Provided is a sliding resin composition including a resin binder, a solid lubricant, and aggregates of particles. The coupling force between the particles in the aggregates is less than the threshold stress of the resin binder. Some of the exposed aggregates are detached from the resin binder by a force less than the threshold stress of the resin binder. Aggregates of particles harder than the resin binder are employed as a protection reinforcement agent, and the included amount of the aggregates of said particles is at least 1 vol.% but not more than 20 vol.% of the whole of the sliding resin composition. The average particle size of the particles harder than the resin binder is lower than that of the solid lubricant, and is at least 10 nm, but not more than 100 nm. When A represents the average particle size of the aggregates, and σ represents the standard deviation of the aggregates, A-1σ is at least 60 nm, and A+1σ is not more than 400 nm. Furthermore, the aspect ratio of the aggregates is not more than 10.
