Abstract:
[Problem] To improve the seize resistance of a resin composition used in a sliding member, while maintaining the abrasion resistance thereof. [Solution] Provided is a sliding resin composition including: a resin binder; a solid lubricant; and a protection reinforcement agent which is harder than the resin binder, and more brittle than the resin binder. Aggregates of particles harder than the resin binder are employed as the protection reinforcement agent. The included amount of the aggregates is at least 1 vol.% but not more than 20 vol.% of the whole sliding resin composition. The average particle size of the particles harder than the resin binder is lower than that of the solid lubricant, and is at least 10 nm, but not more than 100 nm. When A represents the average particle size of the aggregates, and σ represents the standard deviation of the aggregates, A-1σ is at least 60 nm, and A+1σ is not more than 400 nm. Furthermore, the angle formed between a sliding surface and the long axis of each of the aggregates is not more than 45˚.
