Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a slurry composition for a functional layer, with which it is possible to form a functional layer capable of strong adhesion to a separator substrate and which can also increase the rate characteristics of a secondary battery comprising a separator having the functional layer. This slurry composition for a functional layer contains a binder and a melamine compound. The binder is a polymer having at least one type of functional group selected from the group consisting of a carboxylic acid group, a hydroxyl group, an amino group, an epoxy group, an oxazoline group, a sulfonic acid group, a nitrile group and an amide group. The volume average particle diameter of the melamine compound is 20-300 nm. The proportion of the melamine compound relative to the total mass of the binder and the melamine compound is 0.5-85 mass%.
