Abstract:
The continuous growth in the world population makes the traffic management problem arises, especially for the emergency vehicles. This project proposes a smart highway system to allow a smooth movement for the emergency vehicles to reach their desired destination as soon as possible. First, the smart highway system for emergency purposes (SHSEP) was designed and simulated using Proteus 7.7 professional software. The simulation results showed the feasibility and the acceptable response of the system. After that, the smart high way system hardware is established, the practical results followed the simulation results and it was acceptable results.

Materials:

The materials been used in this project consists of:

• Arduino Uno (use to make process )

• Encoder (used to convert signal from parallel to series )

• Decoder (used to convert signal from series to parallel )

• Switches (used to turn on/off the fast track)

• RF modules (transmitter, receiver)

• LEDs (used to light fast track on highway)

All that done on prototype

Idea:

The main idea surrounding on how ambulance achieve hospital as fast as possible ,when ambulance arrive to patient house the ambulance take patient and the ambulance driver call to traffic center to know condition of highway that using if no problem on highway and no other ambulance use the same highway the driver of ambulance turn on the fast track on highway by using remote control inside the ambulance when signal reach to receiver the signal will process by Arduino and the fast track will light up , also known as cat's eye to warning vehicles in the fast track of the ambulance arrival so they can move to the middle track, providing a clear path for the ambulance to reach the hospital as fast as possible .

As the number of dead people increases, due to the delay of ambulance and different types of emergency vehicles on the crowded roads in major cities. One obvious solution to this entire problem is find way for the ambulance to arrive to hospital as fast as possible.

Highway all over the world is divided into three parts, fast track, middle track and the slow track. The smart highway system for emergency purposes (SHSEP) is an electronic system that enhances highway road by using a retro -reflective safety device used in road marking and make retro-reflective safety device light up, also known as cat's eye, to warn vehicles in the fast track of the ambulance arrival so they can move to the middle track, providing a clear path for the ambulance to reach the hospital as fast as possible and the driver of ambulance can call the traffic center before move from patient house to know condition of highway and know if highway available for ambulance or use other highway .

*H≡ high, L≡low, S≡S witch This table explains the smooth passage of an ambulance on the highway, ranges on real life represent a group of light cat's eye, when ambulance passing a first range vehicles returning to use the first range ,when ambulance passing first and second ranges vehicles returning to use it ,when ambulance passing first and second and third ranges vehicles returning to use it and when ambulance passing first and second and third and fourth ranges vehicles returning to use all fast track (in this case I'm using four ranges you can use more than four ranges).
