Abstract:
Provided are a single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) marker associated with wool traits in fine wool sheep and detection primer set, kit, detection method, and application thereof, belonging to the technical field of molecular marker detection; said SNP molecular marker is located at the locus 133486008bp on sheep chromosome 3; an A/C base mutation is present at said locus, and there is a significant correlation with the wool traits of a fine wool sheep. The SNP marker of the present invention can be used for molecular marker-assisted breeding in sheep. The molecular marker provided by the present invention is not limited by the age and sex of the sheep, etc. and can be used for selection and breeding of fine wool sheep, with accurate screening even being possible immediately after birth, thus significantly contributing to the breeding process of fine wool selection.
