Abstract:

The present invention makes it possible to visualize the drying of soil to a desired degree and notify a user of this drying. A soil moisture indicator (1) according to the present invention is provided with a main body (2) that is formed so as to be hollow from a material that does not allow water to pass therethrough and has a water absorption opening (5) disposed near one end in the longitudinal direction, an evaporation opening (7) disposed near the other end, and a display portion (6) provided near the other end so as to make the inside of the hollow area visible; a water absorbing material (3) that fills the inside of the main body (2) at least from the water absorption opening to the display portion; and a water detection sheet (4) that is disposed so as to cover the water absorbing material (3) at the position of the display portion (6) within the main body (2) and has varying color tones in a water absorption state and a dry state. The main body may be provided with a guide line (8) indicating the target depth to which the main body should be inserted into the soil.
