Abstract:
A solar cell (1) is provided with: an n-type semiconductor substrate (2) having a pn junction; and a rear surface-side impurity diffusion layer (11), which is formed on the light receiving surface of the semiconductor substrate (2) or in a rear surface-side surface layer on the reverse side of the light receiving surface, and which has a rear surface-side high-concentration impurity diffusion layer (11a), which contains an n-type or p-type impurity element at a first concentration, and a rear surface-side low-concentration impurity diffusion layer (11b), which contains, at a second concentration that is lower than the first concentration, an impurity element having a conductivity type that is same as that of the rear surface-side high-concentration impurity diffusion layer (11a). The solar cell (1) is also provided with: rear surface first electrodes (13), which are formed at a plurality of areas of the rear surface of the semiconductor substrate (2), and which are electrically connected to the rear surface-side high-concentration impurity diffusion layer (11a); and rear surface second electrodes (14) each of which electrically connects the rear surface first electrodes (13) to each other in a state of being separated from the rear surface-side impurity diffusion layer (11).
