Abstract:
A solar heat insulating paint composition, which contains as a part or the whole of pigment 2 to 60 wt %, based on the paint solids, of a solar heat insulating pigment of up to 50 mum in particle size. A structure having a coating layer of the composition as an outermost layer exhibits an excellent solar heat insulating effect and, at the same time, shows excellent long-term durability without causing problems of environmental pollution or sanitation and can be colored with any desired color. Thus, the composition is extremely useful for marine structures such as decks of ship and tanks and outdoor structures such as buildings (e.g., petroleum tanks, houses, buildings, warehouses and gymnasiums) and land structures such as tank lorry and refrigerated containers.
