Abstract:
The present invention improves image quality in a solid-state imaging element in which all pixels are simultaneously exposed to light. According to the present invention, arranged on a front end circuit are a pair of floating diffusion layers that convert a transferred electric charge to a voltage, and a conversion efficiency control transistor that, by opening and closing a path between the pair of floating diffusion layers, controls the conversion efficiency for converting the electric charge to the voltage. First, second, third, and fourth capacitive elements have one end thereof connected in common to the front end circuit. A selection circuit selects the other end of one of the first, second, third, and fourth capacitive elements to connect to a prescribed back end node. Via the back end node, a back end circuit reads a reset level in which the voltage at the time the pair of floating diffusion layers was initialized is amplified, and a signal level in which the voltage at the time the electric charge was transferred is amplified.
