Abstract:
In order to provide a spacer expander for a combined oil control ring with which an excellent oil control function can be maintained without generating adhesion between the spacer expander and a side rail even when an engine is operated for a long period of time, the maximum valley depth Rv of a roughness curve for a flat portion of the spacer expander that faces the upper surface or the lower surface of the side rail is no greater than 2.5 μm.
