Abstract:
This invention comprises a specimen holder 11 that has a magnetic body 12 and is for conveying a specimen container 10 containing a specimen, a conveyance surface 22 that the specimen holder 11 slides on, a plurality of electromagnets 21 that are disposed on the bottom side of the conveyance surface 22 and are for conveying the specimen holder 11 through electromagnetic force, a barcode 30 that is provided on at least one from among the specimen container 10 and specimen holder 11, a barcode reader 31 for reading the barcode 30, and a rotation mechanism 40 that is provided on the top side of the conveyance surface 22 and touches the specimen holder 11. Conveying the specimen holder 11 while causing the same to touch the rotation mechanism 40 makes the specimen holder 11 rotate while being conveyed, and the bar code 30 is read by the barcode reader 31 while the specimen holder 11 rotates. As a result, a specimen conveyance system and specimen conveyance method are provided that make it possible to smoothly read a specimen identification tag while enhancing conveyance throughput.
