Abstract:
This specimen processing system is provided with: specimen-container holders (1) having circular plate-shaped base sections (2) disposed with the center axes thereof aligned with the vertical direction, the specimen-container holders (1) also having specimen-container holding sections (3) that are formed smaller in outer diameter than and coaxially with the base sections (2) at positions thereabove, and hold specimen containers (17) in an upright state; a conveyor (19) for conveying the specimen-container holders (1) placed thereupon; and a holding plate (6) provided at a position through which at least the specimen-container holding sections (3) pass and which is above a position through which the base sections (2) of the specimen-container holders (1) on the conveyor (19) pass, the holding plate (6) being provided so as to follow the outer periphery of a circular column-shaped region (C) having the center axis thereof aligned with the vertical direction. The movement of the holding plate (6) in the circumferential direction controls the state of conveyance of the specimen-container holders (1), which are being conveyed by the conveyor (19), and as a result, each of the specimen containers can be individually subjected to conveyance processing.
