What is described is a stand for photovoltaic modules or solar collectors, with a rear support (8), a front support bar (9) which is articulated thereon and which carries the photovoltaic module (5), a length-adjustable telescopic strut (10) which supports the support bar at an angle and is articulatedly connected to both elements, wherein the telescopic strut parts (16, 17) thereof which can be displaced telescopically one inside the other can be positively locked stepwise at different lengths so as to latch correspondingly. It is essential that a ratchet device (15, 21, 22, 30) which is active between the two telescopic strut parts (16, 17) is provided, which device ratchets and, if required, latches in during the extension of the telescopic strut and slides back in a non-ratcheting manner during the retraction, and that the desired end position can be blocked and preferably also secured via the ratchet device. It is now possible, quickly and simply, virtually with a single jerking lifting movement on the module structure, to increase the inclination thereof in steps (summer position) and also to reduce said inclination in a simple manner (winter position).
