Abstract:
A static pressure noncontact gas seal, wherein the diameter (d¿2?) of a second outer peripheral part (42) of a stationary sealing ring (4) with which a second O-ring (62) is in contact is smaller than the diameter (d¿1?) of a first outer peripheral part (41) of the stationary sealing ring (4) with which a first O-ring (61) is in contact, whereby the pressure of sealing gas (8) supplied into a first closed space (71) gives the stationary sealing ring (4) a pressing pressure in the direction of a rotary sealing ring (2). A second closed space (72) communicates with an in-machine region (F) via a back pressure introducing passage (45), and the in-machine gas pressure in the second closed space (72) acts as the back pressure on the stationary sealing ring (4).
