Abstract:
A steam turbine (10) comprising a turbine body that has a rotatably supported blade, a steam flow path connected to the turbine body through which steam flows, a regulating valve that regulates, by linear motion, the opening and closing of the steam flow path, an open-close driving mechanism (15) that drives the regulating valve, an electronic governor (17) that controls at least the open-close driving mechanism, and a controller unit (35) that controls the operation of the open-close driving mechanism, wherein the open-close driving mechanism comprises an electric motor (26) that rotates by electrical power being supplied, a converting mechanism that converts the rotary motion of the electric motor to linear motion of the regulating valve, and a brake (28) that brakes the rotary motion of the electric motor by way of being operated, and at least one of the controller unit and the electronic governor performs control to operate the brake when at least one of the electric motor and the controller unit fails and maintain the position of the regulating valve.
