Abstract:
This steel wire has a specified chemical composition. In the region of an L cross-section, which is along the axial direction and includes the axial line of the steel wire, closer to the axial line than a depth of 100 µm from the surface of the steel wire, the metal structure comprises at least 90% of drawn pearlite in area ratio. In the region of the L cross-section from the surface of the steel wire to a depth of 100 µm, the metal structure comprises at least 70% of drawn pearlite in area ratio. When D is defined as the diameter of the steel wire in mm units, σHV as the standard deviation of the Vickers hardness of the surface of the steel wire, and Rp0.2 as the yield strength of the steel wire, σHV<(-9500×ln(D)+30000)×exp(-0.003×Rp0.2) is satisfied and tensile strength TS is at least 1770 MPa.
