Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a steering apparatus in which the discharge of grease can be prevented even if a lower column enters the interior of a cylindrical part of an upper column. [Solution] This steering apparatus includes: a telescopic steering shaft that extends in a first direction; and an outer-tube steering column that rotatably supports the steering shaft. The steering column includes: a lower column; and an upper column in which one end part is slidably attached to the lower column and the other end part is provided with a bearing that supports the steering shaft. The upper column includes: a clamp part that is externally slidably fitted to the lower column and provided with a slit extending in the first direction; and a cylindrical part that forms a cylindrical shape and in which one end part is contiguous with the clamp part and the other end part is closed with the bearing internally fitted thereto. The cylindrical part has an air hole that is separate from the one end part of the cylindrical part and runs through the outer peripheral surface and inner peripheral surface thereof.
