Abstract:
Provided are a stent delivery system having a front end having a small outer diameter, and a method for manufacturing the stent delivery system.
A stent delivery system provided with: a hollow shaft section; an extendible balloon (130) disposed on the outer periphery of the front end of the shaft section; and a stent disposed on the outer periphery of the balloon (130) and having struts (122) expanded by the extension of the balloon (130). The balloon (130) has ridges (132) with which the stent is engaged. The ridges (132) are gripped in spaces (S) between the struts (122), and the crests of the ridges (132) have recesses (136) recessed toward the axis (A) of the shaft section.
