Abstract:

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a stereoscopic display device having a novel structure that can prevent color breakup of images for stereoscopic view. Provided are a parallax barrier (16) in which light transmission parts (42) that transmit light and light blocking parts (44) that block light are formed alternately, and a display panel (12) that displays images for stereoscopic view. In the display panel (12) a plurality of pixels (22) for displaying images for stereoscopic view are formed. The pixels (22) are provided with a plurality of color imparting elements (24, 26, 28) that contribute color to images for stereoscopic view, and contrast imparting elements (30) that contribute contrast to the images for stereoscopic view. Contrast imparting elements (30) are positioned at both ends of the pixels (22) in the direction in which the transmission parts (42) and the blocking parts (44) are alternately arranged. With respect to pixels (22) that are overlapped by light blocking parts (44) when the display panel (12) is viewed from the front, contrast imparting elements (30) are positioned at both ends of the light blocking parts (44).
