Abstract:
[Problem] To propose a storage device and a method for controlling same with which it is possible to improve the performance of responding to read accesses in various types of access pattern. [Solution] The present invention is configured such that when a processor stages data to be read when the data to be read is not held in a data buffer memory, sequential learning is performed to observe, for the access pattern of a read access from a host device, an access pattern that is in units of blocks of prescribed size and an access pattern that is in units of slots comprising a plurality of blocks, and the data range to be staged is enlarged as necessary on the basis of the learning result of the sequential learning.
