Abstract:
A storage device has a map database that includes at least two specific addresses and at least one non-specific address. The two specific addresses are linked to survey position coordinates, which are position coordinates determined by measurements acquired from an external server. The survey position coordinates for each specific address are stored in the storage device. The two specific addresses directly or indirectly sandwich the non-specific address along a road facing the non-specific address. The survey position coordinates for the non-specific address are stored in the storage device when the error between estimated position coordinates for the non-specific address, as calculated by proportional calculations on the basis of the survey position coordinates for the two specific addresses, and the survey position coordinates for the non-specific address is greater than or equal to a prescribed value, and when the error is less than the prescribed value, the survey position coordinates for the non-specific address are not stored in the storage device.
