Abstract:
A storage device connected to a host device. The storage device is equipped with: a nonvolatile memory for storing data; a logical area management unit for dividing the nonvolatile memory into, and managing, a plurality of logical areas; a logic information storage unit for storing information pertaining to the plurality of logical areas managed by the logical area management unit; an access pattern management unit for managing an access pattern specified from the host device and corresponding to the plurality of divided logical areas; an access pattern storage unit for storing information pertaining to an access pattern; an access pattern processing management unit for selecting, from the information pertaining to the access pattern, an access pattern corresponding to an accessed area, when any area among the plurality of logical areas is accessed from the host device; and an access processing management/execution unit for carrying out a process with respect to the nonvolatile memory on the basis of an access pattern specified by the access pattern processing management unit, and transmitting data to the host device.
