Abstract:
A strain wave gear device (1) has internal gear teeth (2), flexible external gear teeth (3), and a strain wave generator (4) that causes the external gear teeth (3) to produce a strain wave motion. The strain wave generator (4) has a bearing (6) fitted to the inner circumferential surface of the external gear teeth (3). An outer race (6a) of the bearing (6) has a degree of elasticity found by equation (1) below. (1): Degree of elasticity (N/mm2) = E×I×(1/D4), E: modulus of longitudinal elasticity, I: cross-sectional second moment, D: outer diameter of outer race, and the degree of elasticity is in a range of 7.8×10-5 to 2.7×10-2.
